Accounts Assistant

Position Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-driven Accounts Assistant to support our finance department. In this entry-level capacity, you will handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, invoice processing, data entry, and routine financial recordkeeping. This position offers excellent growth potential for an individual eager to start a career in finance or accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.

Enter daily financial records, vendor invoices, expense reports, and receipts into accounting software.

Assist with monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.

Prepare, sort, and organize supporting financial documentation and digital files.

Help follow up on outstanding receivables and assist in vendor payment processing.

Assist senior accounting staff with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Answer basic routine billing or payment inquiries from clients and suppliers.

Education:

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or foundational accounting certifications such as CPA Section 1/Foundations or ACCA Level 1).

Strong basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles (debits, credits, general ledger, balance sheets).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, sorting) and general spreadsheet navigation.

Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP modules) is advantageous.

Exceptional numerical accuracy and high attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial data.
