Job Description
Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager, the role holder will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Risk and Compliance framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and strengthening risk controls across Airtel Money. The role will also support the implementation of internal policies aimed at mitigating risk and revenue loss.
Responsibilities
Support in the identification and assessment of risks associated with Airtel Money’s current and future business activities, including new and existing products, services and business relationships.
Assist in the preparation of regulatory compliance reports, Board and Senior Management reports.
Conduct due diligence and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews for Airtel Money customers, agents, partners and merchants, including ongoing monitoring of high-risk clients.
Conduct deep-dive investigations on flagged high-risk accounts and prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Support investigation of suspicious transactions and preparation of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for review by the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
Conduct ongoing transaction monitoring to identify suspicious activities that warrant further investigation or reporting.
Assess, test and refine automated transaction monitoring thresholds to improve alert accuracy and identification of suspicious transactions.
Support internal and external audits, including provision of audit artefacts and tracking of statutory and internal audit issues to closure.
Design and execute SQL queries to extract, analyse transactional and related data to support Risk and Compliance reviews, management and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Risk, Law or a related field with 2 to 5 years ‘experience requisite experience within a Fintech or Financial Services environment.
AML/CFT qualification will be an added advantage.
Sound proficiency in SQL and Excel, with knowledge in Python.
Strong knowledge of AML regulations, KYC requirements and financial crime prevention frameworks.
Hands-on experience with AML monitoring systems, transaction monitoring tools and case management platforms.
Strong analytical and investigative skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong data analytics skills and understanding in audit process.
Good business acumen with strong communication, presentation and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance
