Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the organization\'s IT infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, data protection, and technology operations.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience working in a regulated environment, particularly within banking, insurance, SACCOs, financial institutions, or other highly regulated organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the organization\'s IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and applications.
Ensure reliable availability, performance, and security of IT systems.
Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and controls.
Ensure IT operations comply with applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.
Manage cybersecurity, access controls, data protection, backups, and disaster recovery.
Monitor and manage IT risks, vulnerabilities, incidents, and system disruptions.
Coordinate system upgrades, implementations, maintenance, and technology projects.
Manage IT vendors, service providers, licenses, and technology contracts.
Conduct regular system and security reviews and ensure identified issues are addressed.
Maintain proper IT documentation, asset registers, and system records.
Support internal and external audits by providing required IT documentation and evidence.
Develop business continuity and IT disaster recovery plans and coordinate periodic testing.
Lead and supervise IT staff and provide technical guidance where required.
Prepare regular IT performance, risk, and compliance reports for management.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience.
Proven experience working in a regulated environment is a MUST.
Experience in banking, insurance, SACCOs, financial institutions, or similarly regulated organizations is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of IT governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and data protection.
Experience supporting regulatory and internal audits.
Good understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
