Entry-Level Catering & Operations Manager

Nexus Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing catering and food services business based in Kahawa Sukari, for an energetic and hands-on Entry-Level Catering & Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the business, coordinate staff and catering assignments, monitor service delivery, assist with customer communication and ensure that events and orders are executed efficiently.

This is a hands-on management opportunity suitable for a young professional who is organised, responsible, customer-focused and interested in building a career in catering, hospitality and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day catering and operational activities.

Assist in planning and coordinating catering events, deliveries and food-service assignments.

Coordinate staff schedules and deployment for different assignments.

Ensure staff report on time and are appropriately prepared for assignments.

Monitor service delivery and ensure customers receive professional and timely service.

Assist with customer enquiries, bookings and follow-ups.

Coordinate orders and ensure agreed customer requirements are communicated to the relevant teams.

Support event setup, service and close-out activities.

Monitor cleanliness, presentation and general service standards.

Assist in monitoring food, equipment and other operational requirements.

Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth execution of assignments.

Handle routine customer concerns and escalate major issues to management.

Maintain basic operational records, schedules and reports.

Follow up on pending assignments, deliveries and customer requirements.

Assist management in identifying operational challenges and practical solutions.

Support staff discipline, teamwork and adherence to company procedures.

Assist with stock and equipment accountability during catering assignments.

Perform other operational duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, Business Management, Catering or a related field is an advantage.

Previous experience in catering, hospitality, restaurant operations, events or customer service is needed.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational and coordination abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Customer-focused and professional in dealing with clients.

Must be proactive, reliable and willing to take responsibility.

Ability to coordinate and work effectively with a team.

Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Basic computer skills.

Willingness to work during weekends, evenings and public holidays when required by catering assignments.

Remuneration

KSh 15,000 – 20,000 per Month

Salary will depend on experience, skills and suitability for the role.
