Duties and Responsibilities
Clearing blocked and partially blocked storm-water drains and channels;
Removing silt, vegetation, litter and other debris from drainage infrastructure;
Clearing accessible culvert entrances and outlets;
Placing extracted material at designated collection points for immediate removal; and
Identifying damaged or defective drainage infrastructure for reporting to the relevant technical officers.
The drainage clearance teams will operate under the technical supervision of the Department of Transport & Infrastructure.
Requirements for appointment
Be 18 years of age or above.
Possess a valid National Identity Card.
Possess an Artisan Certificate or other relevant qualification or Possess KCSE Certificate and/or KCPE Certificate.
Be physically and mentally able to undertake the assigned duties, including outdoor and physically demanding work.
Be willing to work in any designated location within Mombasa County.
Be available for the duration of the temporary engagement and comply with the instructions of designated supervisors.
