Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership, planning, and supervision of the laboratory department
Ensure compliance with quality standards, KMLTTB/MOH regulations, and accreditation requirements
Oversee test result accuracy, turnaround time, and equipment maintenance
Manage, mentor, and appraise laboratory staff performance
Develop and enforce SOPs, safety, and quality assurance protocols
Manage laboratory budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships
Liaise with clinicians and hospital management on diagnostic service delivery
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences
Valid KMLTTB registration/license
Minimum 5-7 years' laboratory experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership/managerial role
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 15189) and lab accreditation
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
