The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational standards. Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety Management
Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor safety performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Environmental Management
Develop and implement environmental management programs and sustainability initiatives.
Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
Monitor waste management, pollution control, and environmental protection activities.
Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits.
Promote responsible use of natural resources and environmental conservation practices.
Training and Awareness
Organize HSE induction programs for new employees and contractors.
Conduct regular safety training, drills, and awareness campaigns.
Ensure employees understand and comply with HSE requirements.
Develop emergency preparedness and response plans.
Compliance and Auditing
Conduct internal HSE audits and inspections.
Coordinate external audits by regulatory authorities and certification bodies.
Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
Emergency Response and Incident Management
Develop and maintain emergency response procedures.
Coordinate emergency drills and crisis management activities.
Lead investigations into workplace incidents and environmental events.
Ensure timely reporting of incidents and implementation of corrective actions.
Leadership and Coordination
Advise management on HSE matters and risk mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with department heads to integrate HSE requirements into operations.
Supervise HSE Officers and other safety personnel.
Prepare HSE performance reports for management review.
