We are seeking an experienced Humanities Editor to join our editorial team.
The ideal candidate should have strong editorial and content-development skills, experience in educational publishing, and a good understanding of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field with a bias in Geography and History.
At least 4 years' experience in book publishing, preferably educational publishing.
Strong editing, proofreading, research and fact-checking skills.
Good understanding of the CBE curriculum and its requirements.
Ability to develop and review accurate, engaging and learner-centred content.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.
Experience working with authors, reviewers, designers and other publishing teams.
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in educational publishing.
Key Responsibilities:
Source for manuscripts and possess an ability to come up with innovative publishing projects.
Edit and proofread humanities educational manuscripts to a high editorial standard.
Ensure content is accurate, relevant, engaging and curriculum-compliant.
Work closely with authors, reviewers and designers throughout the publishing process.
Conduct content research, fact-checking and quality assurance.
Ensure consistency, coherence and appropriate progression of content across titles.
Support the development of high-quality CBE-aligned learning materials.
