Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking an
Inpatient In-Charge
to oversee and coordinate nursing activities across inpatient wards and critical care units.
The role requires a competent nursing leader with strong clinical oversight, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be an experienced inpatient nurse supervisor who can manage teams, uphold compliance standards, and support continuous improvement within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities.
Oversee inpatient care delivery, including staff scheduling, team coordination, and daily operational decisions.
• Provide leadership to Unit In-Charges to ensure smooth and consistent nursing operations across all inpatient wards.
• Lead recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance management of nursing staff.
• Ensure accurate documentation, proper departmental records, and compliance with regulatory and hospital requirements.
• Apply nursing best practices and current clinical guidelines to uphold high standards of patient care and safety.
• Ensure effective staff deployment, verify valid nursing licenses, and maintain updated staff certifications.
• Support audits, QMS, risk management, and other quality or compliance initiatives within the department.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, work plans, and represent nursing leadership in meetings or assigned duties.
Key Qualifications.
Higher Diploma in Nursing or a related field; a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is an added advantage.
• Valid registration and license with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
• Leadership training is an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of progressive nursing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of inpatient care, nursing administration, and regulatory standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, high integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail .
