Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Providing strategic and technical leadership in the Technical Services Department to ensure provision of high-quality services to customers.

Steering the development of departmental policies, procedures and actions plans in line with the Company mission and objectives.

Overseeing sourcing, production, treatment and distribution of water;

Overseeing proper treatment and disposal of wastewater;

Overseeing maintenance of the water infrastructure;

Coordinating monitoring water levels in all the company’s storage reservoirs on daily basis;

Overseeing accurate preparation of water production and supply statistics;

Overseeing preparation of comprehensive departmental reports, procurement plans and budgets, to Managing Director to facilitate decision-making;

Ensuring that water and sewerage infrastructure is operated and maintained to the required standards;

Providing technical expertise and advice on the acquisition of contractors and consultants for major works;

Implementation of the Strategic Plan, work plan and performance targets;

Optimal utilization and supervision of staff within the Division;

Providing overall supervision of major works;

Management of Non-Revenue Water;

Enhancing research and innovation;

Overseeing the planning and coordination of quality, maintenance and engineering (capacity works) related issues;

Person Specification

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

Master’s degree in engineering (Civil/Water) from a recognized Institution.

Bachelor’s Degree (Civil/Water) from a recognized Institution.

Twelve (12) years’ cumulative relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been in a management position.

Certificate of Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution.

Must be registered with Engineers Board of Kenya.

Member of Institute of Engineers Kenya.

Valid practicing license.

Certificate in Computer Applications.
