Duties at this level will include assisting in: Preparing clients for collection of specimens; Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms/specimens for accuracy; Receiving/collecting labeling and registering specimens; Setting up equipment and preparing reagents; Performing routine tests; Examining specimens; Writing and recording results; Disinfecting working tables; Transferring specimens for processing and analyzing; Dispatching the results for clinical management; and preparing stains.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB); and
Proficiency in computer applications.
