Requirements for appointment
Be a Kenyan citizenDegree from a University recognized in Kenya in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor ofSurgery (M.B., & ChB.)
Have completed 12 months internship period;
Registered as a Medical Practitioner by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
Must have a Valid Practicing License
Demonstrable skills and experience in various clinical areas with at least three (3) years’ experience.
Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
Certificate in computer application skills will be an added advantage.
Duties and responsibilities
The Medical Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
Attending to patients in clerking, diagnoses, management and followup;
Performing medical and surgical procedures;
Responding to emergencies and disasters;
Providing health education;
Maintaining medical records, health information and data;
Participating in management of medicines, medical instruments and Equipment
Counselling patients and relatives on diagnosis and bereavement;
Teaching and coaching medical students, Medical Officer Interns, Nursing students and Interns, Clinical Officer students and interns;
Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
