The Optic Fiber Specialist drives the implementation, design, and configuration of high-capacity optical transmission networks. The role involves executing fiber deployments, performing fusion splicing and testing, carrying out quality assurance using OTDR and power meters, and maintaining detailed technical records of fiber paths and splice layouts
Responsibilities
Design, configure, and optimize optical transmission networks to ensure high- speed, reliable data transmission.
Oversee and execute fiber optic cable installation, cable routing, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
Conduct rigorous optical testing using OTDRs and power meters to verify link performance, measure attenuation, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
Maintain accurate records of fiber paths, splice diagrams, and as-built documentation while providing technical support during network rollouts.
Requirements
Minimum of a Diploma in Telecommunications, IT, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Established industry track record of not less than 5 years in Telecommunications and ICT.
At least 3 years of specific experience in the design and configuration of optical transmission networks.
