Regional Agronomy Manager
to provide strategic agronomic leadership, drive crop productivity initiatives, support market development activities, and enhance customer value through innovative agricultural solutions.
Position Summary
The Regional Agronomy Manager will be responsible for leading agronomic programs and technical support activities across multiple territories within the region. The role will focus on developing and implementing agronomic strategies that improve crop performance, support product development, enhance farmer productivity, and contribute to the achievement of commercial objectives.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical authority on crop management practices, soil fertility, plant nutrition, crop protection, and sustainable agriculture while working closely with commercial teams, research institutions, distributors, growers, and key stakeholders.
This position requires a strategic and hands-on agricultural professional with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of regional farming systems and agribusiness operations.
Key Responsibilities
Agronomic Strategy and Leadership
Develop and implement regional agronomic strategies aligned with the organization's business objectives and growth plans.
Lead agronomic programs aimed at improving crop productivity, profitability, and sustainability.
Provide technical leadership in crop management, soil health, plant nutrition, irrigation, and crop protection.
Identify emerging agricultural trends, technologies, and innovations that can enhance farming outcomes.
Support the development and execution of long-term agricultural development initiatives.
Technical Advisory and Farmer Support
Provide expert agronomic guidance to commercial farms, distributors, field teams, and farmers.
Develop crop-specific recommendations tailored to local environmental and farming conditions.
Support customers in addressing agronomic challenges including pest infestations, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress factors.
Conduct field visits and farm assessments to evaluate crop performance and provide technical recommendations.
Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality agronomic advisory services across the region.
Research, Trials, and Product Development
Design, implement, and oversee field trials, demonstration plots, and product evaluation programs.
Analyze agronomic data and generate technical reports to support decision-making.
Collaborate with research institutions, universities, and industry stakeholders on agronomic studies and innovation projects.
Evaluate new agricultural technologies, crop varieties, fertilizers, biological products, and crop protection solutions.
Provide technical input into product development and portfolio enhancement initiatives.
Market Development and Commercial Support
Partner with sales and marketing teams to support business development initiatives.
Provide technical expertise during customer engagements, product launches, and promotional campaigns.
Develop technical marketing materials, crop guides, and agronomic training resources.
Support distributor development and customer education programs.
Participate in industry exhibitions, field days, conferences, and agricultural forums.
Team Leadership and Capacity Building
Lead, mentor, and develop agronomy teams across multiple regions.
Establish performance objectives and monitor team effectiveness.
Deliver technical training and capacity-building programs for internal teams and external stakeholders.
Promote knowledge sharing and adoption of best agronomic practices.
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Sustainability and Climate-Smart Agriculture
Promote sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
Develop programs focused on soil conservation, water-use efficiency, integrated pest management, and regenerative agriculture.
Support initiatives that improve environmental sustainability and resource efficiency.
Monitor regulatory developments and industry standards related to sustainable agriculture.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, distributors, government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, and development partners.
Represent the organization in technical forums, industry associations, and agricultural events.
Support strategic partnerships aimed at advancing agricultural productivity and innovation.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to key stakeholders throughout the region.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
Establish and track agronomic performance indicators.
Prepare periodic reports on field performance, crop productivity, trial results, and regional agronomic activities.
Analyze trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
