Our client, a
leading law firm in Kenya
, is seeking an experienced and technically strong
Senior Associate – Employment & Labour Law / Dispute Resolution
to join its growing practice.
The successful candidate will handle a broad range of contentious and advisory matters, manage client assignments with a high level of independence and work closely with Partners and other members of the legal team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage employment and labour law matters, including advisory, litigation and dispute resolution assignments from inception to conclusion.
Advise clients on workplace matters, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, organisational changes and related compliance matters.
Represent clients before courts, tribunals and other dispute resolution forums.
Draft and review pleadings, legal opinions, contracts, policies, manuals, memoranda of understanding and other legal documentation.
Manage client relationships and provide timely, practical and commercially sound legal advice.
Supervise junior team members, manage matter timelines and billing, and contribute to business development and growth of the practice.
Key Qualifications
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in good standing.
Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), preferably gained within a reputable mid-tier or top-tier law firm.
Strong experience in Employment & Labour Law and/or Dispute Resolution, including workplace processes and corporate or workplace investigations.
Strong advocacy, legal drafting, analytical, research and communication skills, with the ability to independently manage complex legal matters.
Demonstrated client management and team supervision experience, with excellent attention to detail and ability to consistently deliver high-quality work.
Sound commercial judgement and a practical approach to legal work; additional experience in commercial, regulatory or advisory matters will be an added advantage.
