Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement, policies, and operational plans aligned with the Company's strategic objectives.

Lead and oversee revenue generation, customer billing, debt collection, and customer relationship management.

Oversee customer registration, account management, and the maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date customer database.

Oversee and ensure timely, accurate, and complete meter reading, billing, and revenue collection.

Coordinate with the Technical Department to resolve meter faults, billing anomalies, and other service-related issues.

Develop and implement strategies to improve revenue collection, reduce Non-Revenue Water (NRW), through commercial losses

Promote high standards of customer service and ensure the timely resolution of customer complaints.

Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and implement service improvement initiatives based on customer feedback.

Develop and manage departmental budgets, annual work plans, and performance targets.

Prepare and submit periodic commercial performance reports to the Managing Director

Ensure compliance with Company policies, regulatory requirements, and the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) standards, regarding Licence and Tariff implementation

Monitor departmental performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director.

Requirements for Appointment

Qualifications

Be a Kenyan Citizen

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or any other Business-related field from a recognized institution

Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Strategic Management, or any other business-related field will be an added advantage.

Member of relevant professional body with good standing.

8 years’ relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position, Preferable in water sector added advantage.

Be able to demonstrate Data analytical skills

Excellent communication skills

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Must fulfill requirements of chapter six of the Kenyan Constitution

Shown outstanding capability in Business strategy.

Personal Qualities, Skills and Competencies

Business analytical skills, attention to the detail.

Proficiency in ICT with strong MS office

Leadership and Managerial skills.

Proficiency in MS office suite, and contemporary accounting systems and practices.

Experience working the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and public relation skills.

Strong risk analysis and risk management skills.

A team player and change driver.

Ability to uphold collective responsibility.

High levels of integrity and ethical conduct.
