Trade Marketing Executive at Spiro

Role purpose

The Trade Marketing Executive, Nairobi will develop and execute marketing activities across the assigned Nairobi territory. The role will strengthen local visibility, generate qualified leads, deliver activations and events, support partnerships, collect market intelligence, supply local content, and ensure that regional marketing activity is properly planned, executed, and reported.

Key responsibilities

Prepare a monthly territory marketing plan aligned with national campaigns, local priorities, Sales capacity, budget, and the regional operating footprint.

Plan and execute roadshows, market-day activities, customer events, demonstrations, test rides, launches, referral drives, partnership events, and other approved activations.

Ensure each activity has a clear objective, target audience, budget, staffing plan, lead target, content requirement, Sales follow-up owner, and reporting deadline.

Maintain strong and consistent brand visibility at relevant customer touchpoints, outlets, stations, events, and partner locations.

Conduct regular visibility audits, identify gaps, and coordinate the installation, replacement, control, and storage of marketing materials.

Build working relationships with local partners, SACCOs, rider groups, associations, institutions, fleets, businesses, event organizers, and other approved stakeholders.

Capture complete, accurate, and source-tagged leads during every activity and submit them promptly through the approved lead process.

Coordinate with Sales and Operations before activities so that customer follow-up, product availability, demonstrations, and local support are ready.

Collect local customer feedback, frequently asked questions, objections, competitor observations, pricing concerns, and market opportunities.

Capture usable photographs, short videos, testimonials, event footage, and local stories, with the appropriate consent, for the Content Creator and Community Specialist.

Manage approved promoters, venues, agencies, suppliers, and temporary event staff, and confirm that all work meets quality, safety, brand, and budget expectations.

Maintain accurate records of activity costs, supplier documents, materials, leads, attendance, results, lessons, and outstanding follow-up.

Submit timely weekly updates and post-activity reports showing results against objectives and recommending improvements.

Travel regularly within the assigned territory and support selected cross-region activities when approved.

Qualifications and experience

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Sales, Events, or a related field is preferred.

At least two years of experience in trade marketing, field marketing, activations, events, sales support, community engagement, or a related role is preferred.

Experience coordinating events, promoters, suppliers, field materials, or local partners is an advantage.

Comfortable using spreadsheets, presentation tools, online forms, email, and mobile applications for lead capture and reporting.

Strong spoken and written English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of languages commonly used in the assigned region is an advantage.

Willing and able to travel frequently within the assigned territory, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends when activities require it.

A valid driving licence is an advantage where the role requires extensive field travel.
