Our client, an established engineering company dealing in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, seeks an experienced Workshop Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Plan workshop activities, allocate jobs and supervise technicians and mechanics.
Oversee servicing, troubleshooting, repairs and overhauls of drilling rigs, compressors, trucks and associated equipment.
Guide the team in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
Inspect completed work and ensure equipment is tested before release.
Coordinate spare parts, tools and materials required for each job.
Maintain job cards, service records and workshop progress reports.
Coordinate on-site repairs and communicate job progress to customers.
Enforce workshop safety, housekeeping and proper use of equipment.
Requirements
Diploma or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Plant Mechanics or a related field.
At least
5 years’ relevant maintenance and repair experience
, including
2 years supervising a workshop team
.
Strong practical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and compressors.
Experience with drilling rigs, construction equipment, mining machinery or other heavy equipment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
Strong leadership, planning, troubleshooting and communication skills.
Direct experience servicing and overhauling drilling rigs will be an added advantage.
