To provide comprehensive specialist care in the management of cardiac critical care patients with the aim of achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose and manage cardiac conditions and complications in critical care.
Assist in planning and coordinating Continuing Professional Development in the area of specialty for health professionals at the institute.
Plan, coordinate, and conduct operational research in the area of specialty.
Manage referral systems for patients at appropriate levels.
Ensure that discipline and the code of conduct are observed by staff under supervision.
Provide technical and professional advice in area of specialty.
Advise on procurement of equipment, drugs, and other logistics required for the specialty.
Person/Job Specifications:
MB.Ch.B. degree or its equivalent from a recognized university or institution.
Master of Medicine (Anaesthesia, Surgery, Internal Medicine) or its equivalent from a recognized university, with training in the specialty.
Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
Valid practicing license.
Demonstrated interest in research.
Experience:
Working experience of at least three (3) years in general or critical care medicine.
