Role Description
The Automation Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Lagos.
The Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation and control systems for fire protection and safety equipment, ensuring reliable operation in industrial and commercial environments.
Daily tasks include configuring and programming controllers, integrating sensors and actuators, conducting system testing, and troubleshooting control and electrical issues.
The role also involves collaborating with engineering, installation, and maintenance teams, preparing technical documentation, and supporting commissioning and periodic inspections to comply with relevant standards and client requirements.
The Automation Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of automation solutions and support training and knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Automation and Process Control skills relevant to industrial safety and fire protection systems.
Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering skills, including understanding of circuits, power distribution, and control panels.
Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving system faults and performance issues.
Candidates should possess foundational Robotics and related control system skills for integrating automated equipment where applicable.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with PLCs, SCADA, HMI configuration, and industrial communication protocols is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems, safety standards, and HSE practices is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with a commitment to safe and reliable system design.

BA/BSc/HND
