POSITION SUMMARY
The Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, & delivering delicious, nutritious, & visually appealing meals for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have more experience in food production, a strong understanding of dietary requirements, & a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety & hygiene.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and prepare meals that meet the dietary and nutritional needs of patients, including specialized diets.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure cost-effective use of ingredients.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare professionals to create meal plans that support patient recovery & wellness.
Ensure meals are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Handle special requests and accommodate dietary restrictions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL
Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a hospital, healthcare facility, or large-scale food service environment.
Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and meal planning.
Excellent culinary skills and creativity in menu design.
Familiarity with food safety regulations.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
