Chief Accountant –Naivasha, Kenya

Our client, a well-established company in the hospitality sector, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Chief Accountant

to lead and strengthen their financial operations.

The role involves managing the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing payroll, and maintaining full compliance with statutory requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive finance professional with strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities.

Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial transactions.

• Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.

• Manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring statutory compliance.

• Maintain and update financial policies and internal control procedures.

• Prepare and submit statutory returns such as PAYE, VAT, NSSF, and NHIF.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

• Support department heads with financial insights and cost control.

• Coordinate audits and provide required documentation to auditors.

Key Qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.

• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or tourism.

• Proven experience in payroll administration and statutory compliance.

• Strong understanding of accounting standards, IFRS, and tax regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar).

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to lead and develop a finance team.

• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
