Role Description
The Cleaner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Awka at Awka Millennium City.
The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in residential, commercial, and shared public areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, corridors, and outdoor walkways.
Daily tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste collection and disposal, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
The role also involves reporting maintenance issues, following safety and hygiene protocols, and ensuring that all assigned spaces are presentable and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff.
The Cleaner will work closely with the facilities and security teams to support a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across the city.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently maintain high cleanliness standards.
Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
Good time management skills and reliability in following schedules and instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in an on-site environment.
Basic communication skills to coordinate tasks and report issues clearly.
Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial, or facility maintenance roles is an advantage.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or public holidays if required.
Commitment to health, safety, and hygiene standards in a residential and commercial community.
Minimum qualifications
Secondary School (SSCE)
