Team Leader / Cybersecurity & Capacity-Building Expert
Salary: 9,500 – 11,500 (GHS) per month
Location: La-Dade-Kotopon Municipal District, Ghana (with potential travel to/experience in the Volta Region preferred)
Position Type: Seasonal Gig (Pilot) with strong potential for permanent transition
Company: Safeway Security Guards (SSG) Ltd
Company Description
Safeway Security Guards (SSG) Ltd is a premier security services provider committed to protecting people, property, and information across diverse sectors. We specialize in delivering reliable, professional security solutions tailored to evolving physical and digital threats.
SSG emphasizes continuous training, strict adherence to industry best practices, and the integration of modern security technologies. Our culture values collaboration, integrity, and proactive communication to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery for every client.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Team Leader / Cybersecurity and Capacity-Building Expert to spearhead a high-impact pilot project. Initially structured as a seasonal engagement, this role carries strong potential to transition into a permanent position based on pilot performance and program expansion.
You will lead the assessment of clients' digital security postures, identify vulnerabilities, and design practical controls to safeguard systems, applications, and networks. Crucially, you will blend technical cyber expertise with behavioural science approaches to drive the sustained adoption of safer digital practices among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), private-sector organisations, and institutional hubs.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and coordinate a specialized team, ensuring high performance, clear communication, and alignment across project milestones.
Assessment & Advisory: Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity and data protection needs assessments, stakeholder consultations, and vulnerability reviews for SMEs and private-sector clients.
Behavioural & Practical Interventions: Translate assessment findings into actionable recommendations and apply behavioural approaches to promote long-term, sustained adoption of secure digital habits.
Training & Capacity-Building: Design, develop, and deliver practical training sessions, workshops, coaching programs, and institutional advisory tools for internal staff and external clients.
Ecosystem Collaboration: Leverage deep knowledge of Ghana’s SME, cybersecurity, and data protection landscape to build stakeholder trust and deliver contextualized solutions.
Monitoring & Documentation: Track behavioural adoption metrics, evaluate intervention impact, and document lessons learned to refine the pilot framework.
Threat Vigilance: Stay current with emerging cyber threats, tools, and regulatory standards to continually update SSG's advisory methodologies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Technology, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field (relevant professional certifications are a distinct advantage).
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of general professional experience.
At least 3–5 years specialized experience in cybersecurity, digital safety, ICT, capacity building, or SME/private-sector support.
At least 5 years of dedicated team leadership or management experience.
Core Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on expertise in cybersecurity and data protection frameworks tailored to SMEs, private-sector entities, and business hubs.
Behavioural Methodology: Proven experience applying behavioural science or change-management approaches to foster real, lasting digital safety habits rather than one-off compliance.
Local Ecosystem Knowledge: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working within Ghana’s SME and cybersecurity ecosystem (experience working in the Volta Region is considered a strong advantage).
Training & Documentation Skills: Strong track record in curriculum development, workshop facilitation, and institutional capacity-building, backed by rigorous monitoring and reporting.
