The Role
Research, investigate and develop compelling news stories, features and human-interest reports.
Cover press conferences, public events, interviews and other news assignments.
Conduct interviews with relevant personalities, stakeholders and news sources.
Gather, verify and analyse information from credible sources.
Write clear, accurate and engaging news reports and editorial content.
Work closely with editors, producers and other newsroom personnel.
Monitor current affairs, political, economic, social and industry developments.
Meet editorial deadlines and adhere to professional journalistic ethics.
Contribute story ideas and angles for news bulletins, programmes and publications.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mass Communication, Journalism, English or a related discipline.
2 – 3 years' experience in journalism or media reporting.
Excellent writing, communication and interviewing skills.
Strong research, analytical and investigative abilities.
Good understanding of current affairs and media ethics.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in digital media and online research.
Confidence, creativity, integrity and attention to detail.
