Finance Director at EMWA Insurance Brokers

A reputable insurance brokerage invites applications from suitably qualified, goal-oriented and results-driven candidates with exceptional leadership qualities for appointment to the position of: Finance Director

Job Purpose

•The Finance Director will oversee all accounting, regulatory compliance, risk management and strategic capital planning functions of the company, driving its long-term financial health and growth

•The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer, work closely with the CEO on strategic initiatives, and present financial reports to the board.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Lead the finance function, including accounting, financial control, treasury and statutory reporting

•Prepare revenue and management reports, allocate funds to the various departments and implement the company's financial policies

•Prepare the annual budget, evaluating the long-term needs of each department and monitor performance against it.

•Make sound investment decisions to grow the company's portfolio, and monitor investment performance using appropriate business software

•Analyse trends to reduce the financial risks associated with investment and spending decisions

•Ensure compliance with the requirements of the National Insurance Commission (NIC) the Ghana Revenue Authority and other applicable laws and regulations.

•Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely submission of regulatory returns

•Supervise, develop and mentor members of the finance team

Qualification Required & Experience

•Qualified chartered Accountant with active membership of the institute of chartered accountant, Ghana (ICAG), ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent recognised accounting body

•A minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance or management role

•Strong understanding of fiscal policy and investment regulations

•Negotiation and analytical skills

•Sound business decision-making

•Strategic leadership

•Good communication and IT skills

Desirable: Insurance industry experience
