Job Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the HMO Department and ensure that it runs smoothly.
Ensure that all HMO patients receive the necessary authorisation codes before services are rendered.
Ensure that claims for services provided to HMO patients are properly documented and submitted on time.
Follow up on submitted claims and outstanding payments from HMOs.
Communicate with HMO representatives to resolve issues relating to claims, authorisations, rejected services and payments.
Review and reconcile claims to ensure that all services rendered are properly accounted for.
Handle correspondence with HMOs and attend to enquiries or complaints when necessary.
Coordinate HMO registration, partnership arrangements and the signing of agreements with new HMOs.
Work closely with other hospital departments to ensure proper documentation and smooth service delivery to HMO patients.
Requirements
B.Sc. or HND in Health Information Management/Health Records Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or any related field.
Previous experience working in an HMO unit, hospital billing or handling healthcare insurance claims will be an added advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle claims, maintain proper records and follow up on outstanding payments.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
Must be organised, responsible and able to work with minimal supervision.
