KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Main job responsibilities along with summarised sub elements
Ensure strong control environment and awareness throughout the business
Work with Internal Controller and Business Process Owners (BPOs) to drive and transform the internal control process and ensure it is visible throughout the company.
Update internal control framework and methodology to stay in tune with new requirements, company risks and priorities. Most important to align with company strategic plan.
Quarterly DANgo risk discussions with CODI. Share and present internal control results with top management, bringing key messages and highlighting key risks and priorities. Furthermore, influence CODI to support all internal control initiatives.
Ensure high level of internal control in the company by increasing awareness and educating employees. This includes training at all levels of the organization on key policies and procedures, and the importance of a strong control environment.
Actively contribute to the company’s risk management processes. Involvement in strategic projects and investigations, based on requests by senior management. These can include investigation of stock discrepancies, potential fraud cases, etc.
Drive process improvement initiatives with all stakeholders
Lead and ensure business process coordination with all operational functions (sales, marketing, supply chain, procurement, HR, operations, etc). Strong cross-functional interaction and business partnering are required to achieve this.
Improvement of internal control deficiencies identified, by driving action plans and process improvements throughout the company.
Review and approval of business processes and company policies for all functions throughout the organisation.
Continuous Improvement
Actively drive the continuous improvement initiatives with all DBS streams, in line with Group targets. Monthly reporting of these initiatives on Asana platform.
Monthly reporting of efficiency KPIs to the Group.
Liaise with DBS Service Excellence Manager to drive the local CI initiatives.
Participation in various IT projects and system implementations, ensuring business processes are considered, and controls are not compromised. Examples include WMS implementation, Master Data approval workflows, Customers statements automation.
Ensure good collaboration of Internal Control community across Africa Middle East region
Active participation as member of the Africa Middle East Internal Control Committee.
Liaise with regional team members on all Internal Control matters and ensure knowledge sharing between countries.
Corporate Internal Control & Group Internal Audit
Liaising with Corporate Internal Control team in France on all control, governance and risk management topics.
DANgo reporting campaign for H1 and H2: ensure reporting deadlines are respected and all reporting requirements are met as per Group instructions.
Liaising with Group Internal Audit during audit assignments and subsequent communication with regards to action plan implementation and progress.
