Job Purpose
To lead the development and expansion of the organization's private capital market by connecting eligible private companies with investors, facilitating access to private capital, developing market infrastructure and products, and increasing participation in private securities markets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategy for the growth of the organization's private capital market.
Identify and engage private companies, growth-stage businesses, institutional investors, private equity firms, venture capital firms, family offices, and other relevant market participants.
Develop a pipeline of eligible companies seeking capital, investor access, liquidity opportunities, or structured private market solutions.
Support the development of frameworks and processes for private securities transactions, subject to applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
Work with issuers and relevant professional advisers to assess readiness for participation in private capital market activities.
Develop partnerships with investment firms, legal advisers, financial advisers, industry associations, and other private capital ecosystem participants.
Identify opportunities for secondary trading and liquidity solutions for eligible private securities.
Collaborate with Business Development and Market Research to identify priority sectors, investor needs, and new market opportunities.
Support the design of products and services that improve access to private capital and facilitate efficient market participation.
Promote awareness of private capital market opportunities among businesses and investors.
Track market activity, capital raised, investor participation, and other relevant performance metrics.
Ensure that market development initiatives are undertaken in coordination with relevant compliance, legal, risk, and regulatory functions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of eligible private companies onboarded.
Value of capital raised or facilitated through relevant market activities.
Growth in investor participation.
Number and value of eligible private securities transactions.
Revenue generated from private capital market activities.
Strategic partnerships established and activated.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
At least 8–10 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, or private investment.
Strong understanding of private securities, private capital raising, transaction structuring, and investor relations.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with private companies and institutional investors.
Strong commercial judgement, financial analysis, negotiation, and project management skills.
