Marketing Manager - SACCO

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Direct Reports: Marketing Executives / Member Recruitment Officers

Employment Type: Fixed Contract – 3 Years (subject to 6 months’ probation)

Position Overview

The Sacco is seeking a results-driven Marketing Manager to lead its growth agenda. The role is responsible for increasing the Sacco's visibility, recruiting new members, reactivating dormant members and growing the loan book, deposits and revenue.

The Marketing Manager will combine brand building, digital marketing, sales, partnerships and member engagement to expand the Sacco's market share and profitability in line with its strategic plan, by-laws and SASRA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Brand Visibility

Develop and execute an annual marketing and communications plan and budget aligned to the Sacco's strategic plan.

Build and protect the Sacco's brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.

Plan and run roadshows, community events, sponsorships, trade fairs and public relations activities to raise awareness.

Manage relationships with media, advertising agencies and other marketing service providers

Digital Marketing

Manage the Sacco's website, social media, email, SMS, WhatsApp and other digital channels.

Run targeted online campaigns for member recruitment and loan product promotion, and track their performance.

Promote the Sacco's mobile, USSD and other digital service channels to drive adoption and usage.

Maintain a member and prospect database (CRM) to support targeted campaigns and follow-up

Membership Acquisition and Retention

Develop and implement strategies to recruit individuals, SMEs, employer groups, youth and diaspora members.

Build and manage an agent or ambassador network to extend the Sacco's reach.

Conduct presentations, product talks and recruitment drives for prospective members and organisations.

Design and run campaigns to reactivate dormant members and reduce member attrition.

Carry out regular member engagement activities, including financial education workshops, AGMs and member forums.

Loan Book Growth and Revenue Generation

Develop and implement sales strategies to grow loan disbursements, deposits and non-interest income.

Promote loan products to members and work with the Credit department to improve application-to-disbursement conversion and turnaround time.

Cross-sell the Sacco's full range of products and services to existing members.

Provide product information and guidance to members so they can make informed financial decisions.

Meet or exceed the sales and revenue targets set by management.
