Restaurant Operations Supervisor (Hospitality) – Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Our client, a fast-growing fast-food restaurant based in Tanzania, is seeking a hands-on and results-driven Restaurant Operations Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure efficient service delivery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily activities, supervising and supporting staff, monitoring service standards, and ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and company standards. The role requires a practical, proactive leader with strong operational management skills who can work closely with the team during peak service hours, resolve day-to-day operational challenges, and drive efficiency and productivity across the restaurant. Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth workflows, efficient service delivery, and operational standards are maintained during peak hours.

Supervise kitchen and restaurant staff, assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure team members follow established procedures.

Manage inventory, including stock receiving, storage, stock counts, expiry dates, and FIFO/FEFO stock rotation, while addressing discrepancies.

Monitor operational costs, control food wastage, and ensure efficient use of resources through proper portion control and production planning.

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), opening and closing checklists, cleaning schedules, and shift handover procedures.

Prepare operational reports on stock levels, wastage, service quality, staff performance, and other operational issues, while identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key Qualifications

Diploma in hospitality management, Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related hospitality field.

At least 3 years of professional experience in restaurant operations.

Working knowledge of stock control, food costing, inventory counts and waste reduction.

Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, temperature control and safe food storage.

Ability to follow checklists, maintain records, solve problems and coordinate with restaurant supervisors.

A proactive, organised and hands-on approach, with clear communication and basic numerical skills.
