Senior Laboratory Analyst (Medical Devices)

Job Specifications:

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

Drafting and implementing standard operating procedures;

Preparing laboratory reagents, solutions, specimens and sample for analysis for routine analysis;

Generating test reports;

Participating in Environmental, Health and Safety activities (EHS);

Stock taking (Including chemicals) and inventory management;

Performing laboratory PT /ILC tests as guided by the protocols;

Cleaning of specialized equipment;

Decontaminating and sterilizing glassware for biological analysis.

Validating of cleaning processes including glassware, equipment and biological analysis surfaces.

Person Specifications:

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

Cumulative relevant service period of six (6) years, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Laboratory Analyst I or in a comparable position;

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Membership to a professional body and Registration Certificate where applicable;

Proficiency in computer applications.
