Technical Special Assistant to the Chairman - Civil

Adkan Services Nigeria Limited is seeking a highly competent, proactive, and detail-oriented Technical Special Assistant to the Chairman – Civil to provide technical, planning, project management, and administrative support to the Chairman on civil engineering, architectural, construction, and infrastructure-related matters.

The ideal candidate must possess a strong academic background in Civil Engineering or Architecture, a minimum of 8–10 years of relevant professional experience, excellent planning and project management abilities, and advanced computer skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support and professional advice to the Chairman on civil engineering, architectural, construction, and infrastructure-related matters.

Assist in planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating ongoing projects.

Monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, and implementation progress.

Review architectural drawings, engineering designs, technical reports, project proposals, and related documentation.

Coordinate with consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Prepare technical reports, presentations, progress updates, and management briefs for the Chairman.

Follow up on project instructions, assignments, and management decisions to ensure timely implementation.

Identify project challenges, assess potential risks, and recommend practical solutions.

Assist in developing project plans, work programmes, schedules, and performance-tracking systems.

Maintain proper records and documentation of technical and project-related activities.

Carry out technical research, data analysis, and other assignments as directed by the Chairman.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognised institution.

Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering, architecture, construction, project management, or related fields.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, building projects, civil engineering works, and project implementation.

Demonstrable planning, organisational, coordination, and project management skills.

Advanced computer knowledge and proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to use relevant technical and project management software. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar applications will be an added advantage.

Excellent report-writing, presentation, communication, and analytical skills.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering designs, and project documents.

Ability to manage multiple assignments, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

High level of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, and discretion.

Strong leadership, initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate must be intelligent, highly organised, analytical, technologically proficient, and capable of combining technical engineering or architectural knowledge with executive-level coordination and project oversight. The candidate must be proactive, dependable, articulate, and able to translate the Chairman's directives into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
