Position Summary
The Turn Boy will be responsible for assisting with the loading, transportation, and delivery of bakery products to customers while ensuring accurate quantities, proper documentation, and timely delivery.
The role will also involve collecting payments, issuing receipts, managing market returns, ensuring the return of delivery crates, and maintaining accountability for products and sales collections.
The successful candidate will demonstrate honesty, physical fitness, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Product Delivery & Distribution
Ensure bakery products are delivered to customers on time and in the correct quantities.
Verify that all goods delivered are accompanied by accurate delivery notes and invoices.
Ensure customers acknowledge receipt of deliveries by signing and stamping the relevant documents.
Assist in loading and offloading bakery products and other consignments.
Product Inspection & Quality Control
Check and inspect products before loading to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Verify that products have valid expiry dates to minimize market returns.
Ensure products are properly loaded and handled to prevent damage, breakages, and quality deterioration.
Sales Collections & Reconciliation
Confirm customer payments and reconcile daily sales with the cashier.
Ensure all cash collected is properly accounted for and deposited in the designated safe box.
Support proper documentation of cash and electronic sales transactions.
Issue receipts to customers for payments received.
Market Returns Management
Collect market returns from customers with the necessary office authorization.
Ensure returned products are accompanied by appropriate receiving documentation.
Maintain proper accountability for all products collected and returned to the bakery.
Crate Management
Ensure all delivery crates are collected from customers and returned to the bakery.
Monitor crate movements to minimize losses and shortages.
Customer Service & Communication
Maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers.
Receive customer feedback and communicate relevant information to the bakery.
Receive and forward new customer orders to the bakery for processing.
Support efficient communication between customers, the sales team, and bakery operations.
Delivery Documentation & Accountability
Ensure all delivery notes, invoices, receipts, and return documents are properly completed.
Maintain accurate records of delivered goods, payments, and returned products.
Report discrepancies in deliveries, collections, or documentation to the relevant supervisor.
Safety & Operational Support
Ensure vehicle doors are securely locked when required.
Support the safe handling and movement of bakery products.
Follow company policies and operational procedures.
Perform other duties assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
O-Level education or above.
2–3 years’ relevant working experience.
Certificate of Good Conduct or proof of application while awaiting issuance.
Ability to provide guarantors as required.
Previous experience in product delivery, distribution, or a similar role will be an added advantage.
