Tutorial Fellow - Medical - Surgical Nursing

Job Objective

We are seeking a strategic, forward thinking, industry connected, and student centric Tutorial Fellow with Medical Surgical accumen to foster teaching, research and innovation ecosystems. The ideal candidate must demonstrated the capability to bridge academia and grow graduate employability while ensuring sustainability.

Duties and responsibilities

To teach Medical Surgical Units allocated by the Head of Department.

Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.

Delivering high-quality lectures and practical sessions.

Reviewing Medical surgical course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.

Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities.

Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.

Seeking and participating in consultancies.

Dissemination of research findings at national or international conferences, scientific symposiums and webinars.

Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description;

Qualification and experience

Hold a Master and Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Surgical Nursing from an accredited University.

At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.

Demonstrate potential for university teaching, research and community extension.

Have a commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students.

Valid Nursing Council of Kenya Licence.
