Assistant Baker

Nexus Staffing Solutions Limited is recruiting on behalf of its client, a bakery located in Eastleigh, Nairobi, for a hardworking, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Baker to support daily bakery operations.

The successful candidate will assist with preparing ingredients, mixing dough, shaping baked products, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the baker in ensuring consistent product quality.

This opportunity is suitable for someone with a passion for baking, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy bakery environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and measuring quantities according to recipes.

Support the preparation and baking of bread, cakes, pastries, and other bakery products as required.

Assist with mixing dough, shaping products, and preparing items for baking.

Operate basic baking equipment safely under supervision.

Prepare baking trays, utensils, and workstations before production.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery, equipment, and work surfaces.

Observe food hygiene and safe food-handling practices.

Assist with packaging, arranging, and storing finished bakery products.

Monitor ingredients and help minimise wastage.

Follow instructions from the head baker and other supervisors.

Support timely preparation of bakery products to meet daily production needs.

Minimum Requirements

Previous experience in a bakery or food preparation environment will be an advantage.

Basic knowledge of baking processes and ingredients is desirable.

Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Good personal hygiene and attention to cleanliness.

Reliability, punctuality, discipline, and a positive attitude.

Ability to work the scheduled afternoon and evening shift.

Must be based in Eastleigh or the surrounding areas and be able to commute reliably.
