About MMT Alliance

MMT Alliance is an international infrastructure, procurement and project delivery business headquartered in Australia, with its African headquarters on Kiambu Road, Nairobi. Our operational presence includes offices and warehouses in Juba, South Sudan, and Somalia, together with an office in Dubai, UAE.

Our capabilities span:

Bulk commodities, procurement and supply chain solutions.

Road construction, civil works and infrastructure.

Building and general construction.

Project management, engineering and consultancy.

Humanitarian and emergency supply support.

Our portfolio includes active World Bank-funded road projects in Nairobi and other projects across multiple countries. Supported by ISO-certified management systems and an international operational footprint, we are strengthening our institutional relationships and pursuing further business across Africa and beyond.

The opportunity

You will lead institutional business development, working closely with senior leadership and our technical, procurement and project teams.

Your mandate will be to engage relevant stakeholders, understand their requirements, identify suitable opportunities and position MMT Alliance to compete successfully for tenders, framework agreements and projects.

Success will be measured through the quality of your relationships, the strength of your opportunity pipeline and your contribution to contract wins and revenue.

Key responsibilities

Institutional relationships and representation

Activate and expand established relationships with UN agencies, NGOs, government institutions, development banks, donors and implementing partners.

Secure relevant introductions, capability presentations and meetings with procurement, programme, infrastructure and project teams.

Build lasting relationships that position MMT Alliance as a credible supplier, contractor and delivery partner.

Represent the company at institutional meetings, supplier briefings, industry forums and regional events.

Opportunity development and contract acquisition

Identify relevant tenders, expressions of interest, prequalification exercises, framework agreements and partnership opportunities.

Track publicly available procurement plans, funding announcements and upcoming programmes across priority markets.

Qualify opportunities against our capabilities, delivery capacity, commercial objectives and likelihood of success.

Develop practical strategies for pursuing priority accounts and projects, from initial engagement through to award.

Identify suitable consortium partners, joint ventures, subcontracting arrangements and local delivery partnerships.

Tender coordination and commercial execution

Coordinate with internal teams to develop competitive proposals, capability submissions and tender responses.

Support supplier registrations, prequalifications and institutional onboarding.

Contribute to bid/no-bid decisions, commercial discussions, negotiations and contract handover.

Maintain an accurate pipeline covering opportunity value, procurement stage, funding source, next actions and expected decision dates.

Ensure all engagement follows applicable procurement rules, confidentiality requirements and professional standards.

Who we are looking for

You will bring:

An established, active and verifiable network within relevant UN agencies, NGOs, government bodies, development institutions or implementing organisations.

A demonstrated record of helping secure institutional contracts, funded projects, framework agreements or commercially valuable partnerships.

Experience in institutional business development, strategic partnerships, government relations or public affairs with measurable commercial results.

A practical understanding of institutional procurement, competitive tendering and donor-funded project environments.

Relevant experience in infrastructure, construction, commodities, procurement, logistics, consultancy or humanitarian supply.

Strong proposal development, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

The ability to work independently, prioritise opportunities and deliver with limited supervision.

Willingness to travel across Africa and, where required, to Australia, Dubai and other international markets.

Experience in Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia and the wider East African region will be highly regarded. Familiarity with UNGM and agency-specific procurement systems will also be valuable.

Candidates with lobbying or government relations experience should demonstrate transparent, legitimate stakeholder engagement and a record of working within formal procurement processes.

Your first 90 days

Working with leadership, you will be expected to:

Establish a focused institutional engagement strategy and priority account list.

Activate relevant existing relationships and secure substantive stakeholder meetings.

Identify and qualify opportunities aligned with MMT Alliance’s capabilities.

Progress relevant registrations, prequalifications and partnership discussions.

Build a credible opportunity pipeline with clear next steps and realistic timelines.

Advance suitable opportunities towards submissions, negotiations and awards, according to procurement schedules.

Performance targets will be agreed around qualified meetings, institutional onboarding, partnership milestones, bid progression, pipeline quality and commercial results.

Why join MMT Alliance?

Take ownership of a commercially significant role with direct access to senior leadership.

Represent a business with active projects, established operations and international reach.

Pursue opportunities across multiple sectors and markets.

Help shape our institutional growth strategy and build a lasting regional presence.
