CNG Plant Manager (Idokpa, Edo State)

Job Summary

To oversee the day-to-day operations, technical maintenance, inventory management and safety compliance of a typical CNG daughter station.

Job Details

Oversees all daily plant operations, including decanting, storage and dispensing activities, to meet sales targets in a safe environment.

Monitors and coordinates the timely supply of CNG from product suppliers to the station, to prevent downtime.

Oversees routine, breakdown and preventive maintenance of specialized equipment to sustain the required equipment uptime (unloading column, CNG skid storage, compressors, pneumatic lines, dispensers and gas Generator Set).

Ensures full compliance with all statutory, regulatory (NMDPRA, NESREA) and environmental requirements, maintaining necessary permits and licenses to date.

Enforces strict compliance with HSE requirements for a CNG Daughter plant to mitigate risks, implement regular leak detection routines along high-pressure lines, and manage local environmental compliance.

Tracks daily sales metrics, generates up-to-date operational reporting and conducts rigorous mass-balance gas reconciliation to manage losses/shrinkage.

Coordinates routine, breakdown preventive and corrective maintenance of specialized equipment.

Recruit, train, and mentor plant staff, setting clear performance objectives and conducting regular performance reviews.

Requirements

Minimum of a first degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum/Gas, Electrical, or a related discipline).

A minimum of 5 years' experience operating or maintaining CNG, LPG, natural gas or comparable high-pressure gas facilities, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Recognized HSE certification (NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Registration with COREN, or demonstrable progress toward it, is desirable.

Strong working knowledge of CNG station processes: decanting, storage, compression and dispensing, including high-pressure lines, leak detection and emergency response.

Practical knowledge of NMDPRA licensing requirements and NESREA environmental requirements for gas facilities.

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for sales analysis and mass-balance reconciliation, and working knowledge of maintenance management or plant-monitoring tools.

Demonstrated experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance planning and in managing OEM and contractor work.

Proven ability to lead and train plant staff.
