Key Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect, install, maintain and repair wiring, lighting, sockets, switches, distribution boards and related electrical systems.
Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing instruments and carry out repairs within authorised limits.
Conduct preventive checks on electrical installations, identify hazards and recommend corrective work before failures occur.
Support maintenance of electrical equipment used in stores, offices, warehouses, restaurants, bakeries and other company facilities.
Isolate power safely before work, apply lockout/tagout practices where applicable and verify that circuits are safe to work on.
Document jobs completed, test results, materials used, faults found and outstanding maintenance requirements.
Coordinate with other technicians and approved contractors during installations, renovations and major repairs.
Keep tools and work areas secure and orderly; report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Recognised electrical trade certificate, NVTI/CTVET qualification or equivalent technical training.
Relevant experience in building, commercial or industrial electrical maintenance.
Working knowledge of electrical safety, fault-finding, testing instruments and safe isolation procedures.
Dependable and safety-focused, with good problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple sites when required.
