Provide technical leadership and direction for the engineering team, ensuring alignment with business and product objectives.
Lead the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of software applications and digital products.
Oversee the development of web and mobile applications, APIs and other software solutions.
Establish and maintain coding standards, development best practices and quality assurance processes.
Review code, identify technical issues and ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable and efficient.
Manage engineering projects, allocate tasks, monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of development milestones.
Mentor, support and supervise software developers, fostering technical growth and accountability.
Collaborate with product managers, designers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Make recommendations on technology stacks, software architecture, infrastructure and development tools.
Identify and resolve technical challenges, system bugs and performance issues.
Oversee software testing, deployment, version control and ongoing system maintenance.
Promote the use of modern engineering tools, automation and emerging technologies, including AI where relevant.
Monitor system performance, security and reliability, implementing improvements where necessary.
Provide regular updates on engineering progress, project timelines, technical risks and resource requirements to management.
