Geodetic / Geomatic Engineer at IPSL Ghana Limited

A reputable international engineering and construction company is seeking competent, self-motivated and qualified Geodetic or Geomatic Engineer with 5 to 10 years of proven experience.

Key Responsibilities

•Provision of Data Relevant to the shape and contour of the Earth's surface for engineering, map-making and construction projects

•Undertake land/topographic/hydrographic surveys on site, using a variety of specialist equipment and technology including drones and total station

•Supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records and documents related to surveys

•Analyse data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) programmes to produce surveys reports

•Verify the mathematical correctness of newly collected survey data

•Prepare survey drawings for mega building construction, roads and civil works

•Write descriptions schedules of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases or other legal documents

•Provide advice on technical matters and whether construction plans are viable

•Plan or direct the work of geodetic surveying staff, providing technical consultation as needed

•Prepare cadastral map in ArcGIS of the project-affected areas for the purpose of compensation distribution / resettlement / rehabilitation as required for the project development

Qualification Required & Experience

•B.Sc Geodetic or Geomatic Engineering with 5 to 10 years of working experience

•Ability to use surveying and mapping equipment equipment (graduated rods, transits, levels, theodolites, fathometers, electronic distance meters, global positioning systems, etc)

•Computer Aided Design (CAD), surveying and map creation software

•Blueprint/drawing specifications creation and interpretation

•Diagrammatic skills

•Solid knowledge in Geography

•Critical thinking - using logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of plans, explore alternative solutions and come up with different approaches to problems

•Good spatial orientation and depth perception

•Attention to detail

•Team player - Ability to motivate and direct people

•Good communication skills - written and verbal

•Good organisational skills

•Able to work accurately and neatly
