Built on a foundation of operational excellence, quality, and sustainable industrial growth, Itaca Textile operates high-volume production facilities supplying worldwide markets. As part of our commitment to expanding our footprint in East Africa, we are establishing a brand-new, state-of-the-art production facility in Addis Ababa (Bole Lemi Industrial Park) to complement our existing operations in Ethiopia.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and dynamic Human Resources Manager to build and lead our local HR operations from the ground up for our new facility.

Reporting directly to the General Manager / Plant Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving workforce strategy, local talent acquisition, employee relations, legal compliance, and organizational culture as we launch and scale production.

Key Responsibilities

Employee & Industrial Relations: Foster a positive, safe, and productive workplace culture. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee engagement, conflict resolution, and labor relations.

Compensation, Benefits & Yearly Reviews: Oversee local payroll administration, performance review processes, and attendance tracking systems. Conduct periodic salary and benefit evaluations to prepare competitive annual compensation and benchmark updates for yearly adjustments.

Compliance & Legal Alignment: Ensure all plant policies, employment contracts, and labor practices comply fully with Ethiopian labor laws and industrial park guidelines.

HR Operations & Policy Development: Standardize HR policies, maintain personnel records, and oversee local HR administrative workflows in collaboration with corporate leadership.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or garment factory setting.

Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Ethiopian Labor Law, local hiring practices, and industrial park operational standards.

Skills: Excellent leadership, mediation, and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving ability in fast-paced operational environments.

Languages: Fluency in Amharic and Tigrinya, along with professional working proficiency in English. (Knowledge of Italian is a plus).
