Job Purpose
Coordinate import and export shipments by sea, air, and land, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate freight bookings, cargo movement, tracking, and final delivery
Process shipping documents and coordinate customs clearance
Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, customs agents, haulage providers, and clients
Obtain freight quotations and monitor shipment costs
Arrange cargo collection, transportation, warehousing, and delivery
Provide shipment updates and resolve operational delays
Maintain accurate shipment records and prepare operational reports
Ensure compliance with customs, port, safety, and security requirements
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
On-time shipment delivery rate
Customs clearance turnaround time
Shipment cost control against approved budgets
Documentation accuracy
Client satisfaction and complaint resolution
Avoidable demurrage and detention costs
Compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
BSc/HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or a related field
4 - 6 years' relevant freight forwarding or logistics experience
Knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, shipping documentation, and port operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; relevant professional certification is an advantage
