Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate the pastry& bakery section of the kitchen, collaborating closely with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, coordinated operations.
Prepare a wide variety of Breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other sweet treats, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and appearance.
Decorate, plate, and present Breads, pastries, and desserts in an appealing and tasteful manner, suitable for various events and occasions.
Develop new, innovative recipes and dessert offerings tailored to the needs of the academy, introducing unique and appealing items to the menu.
Monitor the inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and efficient management of stock.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the pastry& bakery section at all times, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Adhere to and implement proper sanitation procedures, including the regular cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and work surfaces.
Assist in custom-baking special orders as requested by kitchen management to cater to themed events, student preferences, and dietary needs.
Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff on baking techniques, recipes, and presentation.
The requirements
O-Level Certificate, with at least a Certificate in pastry and bakery from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 2 years as a pastry& bakery in a busy kitchen setting.
Experience is mass production is an added advantage
English proficiency required and creativity
