Location: Lokogoma, Abuja
Role overview
We are seeking a vigilant, responsible and courteous Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure environment for children, parents, visitors, staff and centre property.
Key responsibilities
Monitor entry and exit points and ensure appropriate access control.
Maintain visitor records and support the centre's child pick-up and release procedures.
Prevent unauthorised access to the premises.
Conduct routine checks of the building, gates and outdoor facilities.
Monitor suspicious activity and report security concerns promptly.
Support emergency response and evacuation procedures.
Maintain professional conduct when interacting with children, parents and visitors.
Work closely with the Centre Manager to enforce safety and security procedures.
Qualifications and requirements
Previous experience in security, facility protection or a related role.
Ability to remain alert, calm and professional.
Good communication and observation skills.
Basic literacy and ability to maintain security records.
Good physical fitness and willingness to work assigned shifts.
Knowledge of basic first aid or emergency procedures is an advantage.
Experience securing schools, childcare centres, estates or similar facilities is desirable.
Important: The successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of child safety and appropriate conduct around children.

Be willing to participate in orientation and relevant safeguarding training.
