Trading/Export Manager

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement effective trading and export strategies to achieve the company's business objectives.

Identify profitable local and international trading opportunities and potential export markets.

Source products and commodities from reliable suppliers at competitive prices.

Identify, attract, and maintain relationships with local and international buyers, suppliers, and business partners.

Negotiate favourable buying and selling prices to maximise company profitability.

Co-ordinate export operations, including product inspection, packaging, documentation, shipping, and delivery.

Ensure compliance with applicable export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade requirements.

Liaise with relevant regulatory agencies, shipping companies, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and logistics providers.

Monitor commodity prices, market trends, foreign exchange movements, and international trade developments.

Prepare trading budgets, cost estimates, sales forecasts, and profitability reports.

Monitor export transactions, shipment schedules, customer payments, and outstanding receivables.

Prepare and submit periodic trading and export performance reports to management.

Identify and manage commercial risks associated with trading and international transactions.

Requirements:

BSc in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines.

Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in trading, export management, commodity trading, or international business.

At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial position.

Practical knowledge of export documentation, shipping procedures, customs regulations, and international trade.

Knowledge of Incoterms, international payment methods, and commodity sourcing will be an added advantage.

Required Skill and Competencies:

Excellent negotiation and business development skills.

Strong knowledge of local and international trade.

Ability to identify profitable business opportunities.

Excellent supplier and customer relationship management.

Good knowledge of export documentation and logistics.

Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

High level of integrity, accountability, and result orientation.
