Sales & Business Development leads the market
Sales & Business Development accounts for 16.3% of every live listing — 1.5× the next sector, Education & Training, at 11.1%.
The practical reading for a job seeker is that the advertised market is considerably narrower than the economy it sits in. For anyone outside the top few categories, the number of relevant openings in any given week is small, which makes breadth of search matter more than polish on any single application.
Hiring is overwhelmingly Nairobi
1,011 listings — 53.4% of the total — name Nairobi, either alone or alongside a second city. Of the 1,657 listings that name any location at all, roughly 61% include the capital.
Mombasa is a distant second at 423 mentions. For candidates outside the two main cities, the advertised market is a fraction of the national picture — which is what makes county-level public service recruitment such a significant channel outside Nairobi.
Remote work barely exists on paper
Just 16 listings — 0.8% — advertise remote or work-from-home arrangements. Whatever hybrid practice looks like inside Kenyan organisations, it is almost never stated in the advert.
Candidates searching primarily for remote roles are therefore filtering themselves down to roughly one opening in 125, and would generally do better to search normally and negotiate arrangements later.
A small share of the market is entry-level
115 listings (6.1%) are attachments, internships, graduate trainee positions or apprenticeships. Of those, 5 are explicitly industrial attachment placements — the course requirement Kenyan students must complete to graduate.
Against the number of students seeking placement each year, that is a thin supply, and it is the clearest argument for applying widely and early rather than waiting for a single well-matched opening. Current attachment and internship openings are listed as they appear.
Supply is steady, not seasonal
Across the 11 complete weeks to 30 August 2026, new listings arrived at a fairly consistent roughly 402 per week, ranging between 224 and 568.
Methodology
Source. RezSync continuously aggregates publicly advertised Kenyan job listings from employer sites and major job boards. Every figure on this page is recalculated from the live board daily; the date above each section of figures is the observation date.
Population. A listing counts if it has a job title, an employer name and a description, and either has no closing date or a closing date on or after the observation date. That is 1,892 listings as of 12 September 2026.
Sector. Sectors are assigned by RezSync classification. A small share of live listings is unclassified; those are excluded from the sector chart but included in all totals.
Location. Counted as mentions, not exclusive assignment: a listing naming two cities is counted under both, so location figures do not sum to 100%. 235 listings name no location and are excluded from location figures only.
Early-career.Identified from job titles by word-boundary matching on attachment, internship, intern, trainee and apprentice, deliberately excluding words such as “international” and “internal”.
Weekly volumecounts when a listing was added to RezSync, not when the employer published it: a large share of source listings carry no reliable publication date, so publication-date trends are not reported. Volume therefore reflects both market supply and RezSync’s ingestion coverage. The current partial week is excluded.
Deliberately not reported. Employer rankings, because a minority of aggregated listings carry imprecise employer names; salary analysis, because too few Kenyan listings state pay; and time-to-close, because only a small minority of listings carry a closing date. We would rather publish a few things that hold up than many that do not.
Coverage. This describes the advertised market. Roles filled by referral or internal promotion never appear in any listings dataset, including this one.
