HVAC Technician – Djibouti

Our client, a reputable organization in the Republic of Djibouti specializing in MEP and HVAC installation services across residential, commercial, and industrial projects, is seeking a skilled

HVAC Technician

to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out field interventions in line with technical standards, safety regulations, and company procedures. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality execution of maintenance and installation tasks, accurate reporting, and strong on-site client satisfaction, while maintaining the reliability and performance of HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor project works in line with assigned schedules and work instructions.

Conduct diagnostics, component replacements, system testing, cleaning, and recommissioning of HVAC equipment.

Handle refrigerants in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation.

Prepare and submit detailed service reports, including work completed, time spent, parts used, and client approvals.

Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and site-specific regulations.

Identify and report technical issues, risks, additional part requirements, or deviations in a timely manner.

Maintain tools, service vehicles, and equipment, ensuring proper care and reporting of any damage or loss.

Deliver professional on-site service, maintaining clear communication, punctuality, and high standards of workmanship.

Support and guide assistant technicians or apprentices when assigned.

Participate in safety briefings, technical training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HVAC maintenance or installation, preferably within commercial or industrial environments.

Technical certificate or diploma in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field.

Valid electrical authorization and refrigerant handling certification.

Strong technical knowledge in diagnostics, component replacement, and system maintenance.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and refrigeration schematics.

Experience working in multicultural or demanding field environments is an added advantage.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, measurement instruments, and maintenance systems (CMMS).

Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety standards.

Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
