We are seeking an experienced, dependable and well-organised chef to work in a private residence in Ibadan. The successful candidate must be skilled in preparing a wide variety of Nigerian and intercontinental meals and capable of planning and serving nutritious, attractive and well-balanced dishes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and refreshments as required.
Cook a variety of Nigerian and intercontinental meals to a high standard.
Develop weekly menus in line with the household’s dietary needs and preferences.
Purchase food items and maintain accurate records of kitchen expenses.
Monitor food supplies and ensure ingredients are properly stored.
Maintain excellent hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, pantry and food-storage areas.
Prepare meals for family members, guests and small private gatherings when required.
Manage portion sizes, minimise food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
Accommodate special dietary requirements and food allergies.
Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and in good working condition.
Requirements
Proven experience as a private chef, hotel chef, restaurant chef or in a similar role.
Demonstrable ability to prepare Nigerian and intercontinental cuisine.
Good knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition, meal planning and kitchen safety.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Honest, respectful, discreet and dependable.
Neat appearance and strong personal hygiene.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Willingness to live within the residence in Ibadan.
Culinary training or a relevant professional certificate would be an advantage.
