Verena, a fashion shop in Nairobi is recruiting a Sales Associate. The sales associate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while maximizing sales opportunities from walk in and online customers.

The sales associate will assist customers in finding the perfect clothing items and bags, to suit their style preferences and needs. Enthusiasm for fashion trends, excellent communication skills, and ability to build rapport with customers will contribute to creating a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Greet customers as they enter the store and engage them in conversation to understand their fashion preferences and needs.

2. Assist customers in selecting clothing items, accessories, and bags by providing personalized recommendations and styling advice.

3. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the products, including fabric types, sizes, colors, and current fashion trends.

4. Maintain a very clean, well organized, and visually appealing shop environment to enhance the shopping experience.

5. Maintain all merchandise in excellent condition, as per the shop’s procedures.

6. Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

7. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.

8. Stay informed about upcoming promotions, sales events, and new product arrivals to effectively promote and cross-sell merchandise.

9. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to a positive working environment.

10. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.

11. Uphold company policies and standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

1. College diploma or equivalent; additional education in fashion merchandising or retail management is a plus.

2. Proven experience in retail sales, or mall retail - preferably in the fashion industry.

3. Passion for fashion and a keen eye for style trends.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

6. Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

7. Basic math skills and proficiency in using POS systems.

8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

9. Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.

Location: Nairobi

Employment Type: Full time

Working days: 6 days a week
